Jorie Walker
 

Jorie Walker is an accomplished competitor and teacher. As a performer and competitor, she has enjoyed performances and parades with many groups including the Delawarettes, Newarkettes, Christiana Bells, Ridley Super Stars, Blazers, Star Attraction and Spot Light Twirlers.  During her undergraduate studies, Jorie was the featured twirler for Villanova University. She has been quoted to say her most rewarding performance has been "A benefit performance in which I twirled and danced on BROADWAY. I was also thrilled to see my choreography performed during this benefit. All monies raised were distributed to the 9-11 Widow's and Children's Fund."

Jorie has also performed at the United Nations in NYC, Blue Rock's baseball games and the Steel Pier in Atlantic City. She has marched in numerous parades including the National St. Patrick's Day parade in Washington, D.C. and the Miss America Parade.

 

Jorie's twirling titles' have included Eastern Seaboard Regional Solo, Strut, and 2-baton champion, NMA National twirling and strut champion along with holding the title of Miss College Majorette of Delaware from 1998-2005.

 

Jorie's students have won numerous state, regional, national and international titles and awards in NBTA, USTA, DMA, AAU, NMA, TU and TOB Twirling competitions.

 

In 2006 Jorie took over direction of the Miss Majorette of Delaware Pageant and Delaware State Twirling Championships with the help of Karen Peet. She looks forward to hosting many more contest and has hopes of becoming a judge within the next two years as she finishes her Masters Degree in Educational Counseling.

DELAWARE TWIRLERS IN THE NEWS:

Congratulations to Brooke Mitchell of Dagsboro, Delaware.  She recently went to Minneapolis, MN to compete in the Miss National Preteen Program.  Brooke not only received 2nd Runner Up to the Queen Title, but she won the National Talent Title.  Brooke performed to "Strut" while showcasing single and double baton work along with dance skills.  Brooke twirls with the Starlites also from Dagsboro, Delaware.  She is 12 years old.
